Spectrometer Aims at Disease Detection in Breath

A recent study has revealed that an IR frequency comb spectrometer could help clinicians detect diabetes, infections and cancer by analysing the air patients exhale. The researchers hope to have a working prototype in 2-3 years and a commercial product in 3-5 years.
