These part are often custom machined as two separate parts, then assembled and machined further as a matched set. The plating can vary to a black nickel over electroless nickel, which is difficult to achieve as far as the cosmetics needed on these large part. By working closely with our plating vendor we were able to come up with a process that worked and was controllable and repeatable.
