Super-resolution Microscopy Images living cells with unprecedented clarity and speed

Researchers have boosted structured illumination microscopy (SIM – a super-resolution microscopy method) spatial resolution capability for seeing inside living cells. Videos produced with the new technology show the movement and interactions of proteins as cells remodel their structural supports or reorganize their membranes to take up molecules from outside the cell.
